Woodform Architectural is very grateful to the donors who joined us in supporting the Malala Fund. Through your generosity, over A$10,000 has been raised for this special cause.
Co-founded by Malala Yousafzai, the youngest ever Nobel Laureate, and her father, Ziauddin, the fund aims to ensure that every girl has access to 12 years of free, safe, and quality primary and secondary education in a world where over 60 million girls are out of school.
Earlier this month, Malala and fellow education advocate Muzoon Almellehan, a Syrian refugee, spoke at the “Supporting Syria” conference in London to urge world leaders to commit to fund US$1.4 billion for Syrian refugee education.
“I leave the 'Supporting Syria' conference today with gratitude and hope,” said Malala. “The United Kingdom, Norway, Germany, and the United States heard our call and committed substantial funding to educate all children impacted by the Syrian conflict, pledging US$600 million for 2016. This is a powerful downpayment towards ensuring Syria’s children are not a generation lost.”
It is this kind of spirit and vision that moved us at Woodform to forego our traditional end-of-year gifts last year and instead donate A$5,000 to the Malala Fund. Our fundraising initiative is still active, and for those who wish to contribute, you may do so here.
